Portfolio: Presence I

The summer of 2004 I spent some time photographing abandoned houses. Places that all told a story about past times and people who have left us. I focused on objects that was left behind, that tell a story about the people who spent their lives in these places.
I was surprised how many of these places I found, and the project turned out bigger than I had planned. It turned out as an important document of a part of the cultural heritage that are almost gone. Many of these houses were farmhouses, stores and worker´s homes that don’t have a place in a modern, centralized country like Norway.
